This is a teacup and saucer set with an exceptional shape and a beautiful painted pattern. The teacup in itself is incredibly unique in that is has three short feet, something rarely seen on teacups that does not inconvenience its use but adds a whole lot of style! If that wasn’t enough, the cup is made of geometrical shapes and straight lines that are very avant-garde but still look great, with the gold paint accenting areas where the shapes meet. The saucer follows the geometrical design in a similar fashion and also has a gold painted flowers in its center that is sadly quite faded, but still visible.
Other than the fading of the gold paint, there are a few minor defects that are barely visible only on the bottom of both pieces. Otherwise, both are in great condition and are great pieces of lusterware with a unique design. Each piece is marked “Royal Prince”, “Japan”, “Very Fine”, “Hand Painted” (see image 4).
The saucer measures 5 3/4 inches in diameter, while the cup measures approximately 3 3/4 inches in diameter and stands 2 1/2 inches tall.
