This is a neat set of cups by Schotts Mainz, each cup having two parts. The part with the handle is made out of metal and has cut out designs. The glass part which contains the liquid fits perfectly into the metal part and is very thin, which makes the whole cup about as heavy as a regular glass cup. This unique and interesting design looks great and might even have some practical applications. They could be used as coffee cups or tea cups.
We aren’t sure of the exact content of the metal, but it is magnetic. It is marked “Schott Mainz” and “Jenaᴱᴿ Glas”. Each glass insert measures 2 1/4 inches in height (which is basically the height of both pieces together) and the metal part is 1 1/2 inches tall. The glass is 3 1/4 inches in diameter at the top and the metal part is 2 7/8 inches in diameter.
